As of Monday, June 29, Prince George’s County entered a full phase two reopening. This decision was made under the advice of public health officials and the data that the County has been monitoring, including continued downward trends in the number of new COVID-19 cases, deaths, and hospitalizations.

The County’s full phase two reopening includes the following list. For each entity in this list, staff and customers must practice proper physical distancing guidelines and follow CDC and Health Department COVID-19 guidance.
Gyms, and fitness centers, and other indoor physical activities may reopen with 1 patron per 200 square feet of fitness space, not to exceed 50% capacity. Besides following all guidelines, high-contact surfaces must be cleaned at least every 2 hours.
Retail stores will be able to expand in-store capacity, with continued safeguards in place. one person per 100 square feet will be allowed in-store, not to exceed 50 percent capacity. Shopping malls may reopen up to 50 percent capacity, with the same safeguards and safety protocols in place as retail stores.
Some recreational establishments, such as bowling alleys, bingo, miniature golf, and others, may now reopen at 50 percent capacity. Amusement parks may reopen at 40 percent capacity. Social and fraternal clubs such as American Legion posts, VFW posts, and Elks Clubs, may reopen for indoor recreation up to 50 percent of maximum capacity.
All personal services are now able to reopen. Barbershops and beauty salons will still only be able to serve customers by appointment, and service is limited to 50 percent capacity. In addition to nail salons that were already open, other personal services including tattoo parlors, massage parlors, and spas are now able to reopen by appointment only. Capacity is limited to 1 person per 200 square feet, up to 50 percent of maximum capacity.
Houses of worship may expand indoor services to 50 percent capacity, with safeguards in place such as maintaining physical distancing, avoiding physical contact, and frequently cleaning high-contact surfaces. Outdoor services are still limited to 250 persons or less.
Childcare facilities can reopen for all children with health and safety precautions. In addition to the use of masks and gloves for all employees and having appropriate social distancing and disinfecting in place, they must also have a schedule for staggered drop-offs and pickups, conduct daily symptom checks, and have a strict dismissal policy in the event of positive cases.
Outdoor youth sports may expand to no more than 100 people in any area, still in small groups with no more than nine children and 1 coach per group. Only low-contact sports are allowed at this time. Outdoor community pools, both public and private, may now expand to 50 percent capacity.
Unless otherwise expressed in the Executive Order, gatherings for all other activities are limited to one person/family unit per 200 square feet or a maximum of 100 persons, which-ever is lower.
All previous re-openings and modifications of non-essential businesses that are not mentioned remain the same. Businesses remaining closed include indoor pools, senior centers, county government buildings, theaters, concerts, bars, nightclubs and adult entertainment.
Essential businesses and services that were open under the Stay-At-Home Order are still open under the full phase two reopening and are still required to follow health and safety guidelines to protect employees and customers.
