During rollout, we are adding partner organizations:
If your organization advertises frequent public events in the News Review, send us an email to discuss your organization publicizing its events here!
The Greenbelt Community Calendar is an online initiative of the Greenbelt News Review.
The Greenbelt Community Calendar was funded with a startup grant from the Greenbelt Community Foundation, with support from the Friends of the New Deal Café (FONDCA). It was created by Greenbelt resident and IT architect Tom Jones.
After a testing phase, the calendar launched November 20, 2014.
The Greenbelt Community Calendar is funded and managed by volunteers for the Greenbelt News Review. Any community event advertised in the News Review will be listed at no charge as long as it is of interest to all (or a major portion of) Greenbelt Residents. In addition, events announced in the News Review will be reviewed for inclusion on an editorial news basis.
Submit your event to the News Review as an advertisement or announcement. Each week, volunteers scan the paper’s content to add upcoming events; an advertisement of any size will ensure your event is listed. If an event is newsworthy, you can also send an announcement. See our homepage for info. If our volunteers miss any events meeting the above criteria, please let us know.
Please do not put us on your general mailing list. If you send us bulk emails unrelated to events described above, your messages may be tagged as spam and discarded.
The Greenbelt Community Calendar is an ongoing project. In the future, it may include some of the following:
