Freedom from Smoking
6–7:30pm, Doctors Community Hospital, North Building, Room 415, FREE. Free 8-week program designed to help people during their journeys toward smoke-free and healthier living. In addition to support and education, participants of this free eight-week program receive blood pressure screenings and carbon monoxide level monitoring.

Green Man Festival
11am–9pm, Roosevelt Center, FREE. Music, vendors, crafts, environmental awareness, food, and fun in beautiful downtown Greenbelt to celebrate the sun! The outdoor festival goes until 5pm, then the music moves inside until 9pm.

Contra Dances
7–9:45pm, Community Center Gym, $10 (cash at door). Beginner lesson at 6:30pm. The City of Greenbelt is co-sponsoring Contra Dances with the Folklore Society of Greater Washington (FSGW). Contra Dance is fun, fun, fun! It is danced to live music which can have an array of instruments depending on the band. There is a caller who calls the dance by doing a “walk through” before each dance. At the beginning of each evening dance, there is a 30-minute lesson to go over all the basic steps that will be called. Call 240-542-2054 for info.
The Homespun Ceilidh Band
8–9:30pm, Greenbelt Arts Center, $20, $18 Student/60+/Military, $14 Youth. The Homespun Ceilidh Band delivers high-energy traditional and contemporary music. With their lighthearted and fun approach to performances as well as their distinctive "Big Band" Celtic sound, they will set your toes tapping.

Grief Support Group
Doctors Hospital Critical Care Conference Room, 2nd floor, FREE. Provides supportive listening, sharing and psycho-educational resources for people who have experienced a loss. In addition to a focus on validation and normalization, participants learn more about the effects of grief and tactics to manage it. These meetings are facilitated by Cynthia Swan, LCPC, grief and bereavement counselor with Capital Caring Hospice of Largo.
