Artful Afternoon

Zombie Prom
2–4pm, Greenbelt Arts Center, $22, $18 Students/Seniors, $14 Youth. It's the atomic 1950's at Enrico Fermi High, where the law is laid down by a zany, tyrannical principal. Pretty senior Toffee has fallen for the class bad boy. Family pressure forces her to end the romance, and he charges off on his motorcycle to the nuclear waste dump. He returns glowing and determined to reclaim her heart. He still wants to graduate, but most of all he wants to take Toffee to the prom. The principal orders him to drop dead while a scandal reporter seizes on him as the freak du jour. Music by Dana P. Rowe Book and Lyrics by Dempsey directed by Jeffery Lesniak. Grief Support Group
Doctors Hospital Critical Care Conference Room, 2nd floor, FREE. Provides supportive listening, sharing and psycho-educational resources for people who have experienced a loss. In addition to a focus on validation and normalization, participants learn more about the effects of grief and tactics to manage it. These meetings are facilitated by Cynthia Swan, LCPC, grief and bereavement counselor with Capital Caring Hospice of Largo.

Fractal Cat

Original songs combine the spirit of early rock ‘n’ roll with elements of soul, classic country, and electronic music. Musical influences include Chuck Berry, early Pink Floyd, and John Coltrane, while lyrical inspirations range from Blake to Buddha.
