Local Businesses Receive Awards

Two Greenbelt businesses were presented proclamations on Wednesday, March 9 by Comptroller of Maryland Peter Franchot. The New Deal Café received an award for transforming from its humble beginning in 1995 to the premier music and art venue it is now.  Alejandra Ramirez, owner of Beltway Plaza Hardware, received an award for her commitment to customers during the months of closure due to the pandemic.
