Fractal Cat
8:30–11:30pm, New Deal Café, FREE. 5-piece rock ensemble emphasizing classic songwriting, melodic vocals, and a multilayered psychedelic rock sound. Original songs combine the spirit of early rock ‘n’ roll with elements of soul, classic country, and electronic music. Musical influences include Chuck Berry, early Pink Floyd, and John Coltrane, while lyrical inspirations range from Blake to Buddha.

Contra Dances Canceled
7–9:45pm, Community Center Gym, $10 (cash at door). Beginner lesson at 6:30pm. The City of Greenbelt is co-sponsoring Contra Dances with the Folklore Society of Greater Washington (FSGW). Contra Dance is fun, fun, fun! It is danced to live music which can have an array of instruments depending on the band. There is a caller who calls the dance by doing a “walk through” before each dance. At the beginning of each evening dance, there is a 30-minute lesson to go over all the basic steps that will be called. Call 240-542-2054 for info.
Billy Coulter Band
8:30–11:30pm, New Deal Café, FREE. Drawing on influences as varied as Bob Dylan, Creedence and Johnny Cash to The Black Crowes and Squeeze, multiple WAMMIE-winner Billy Coulter, brings his band for a night of inspired, organic and original music that blurs the line between Roots Rock and Power Pop.
