Grief Support Group
Doctors Hospital Critical Care Conference Room, 2nd floor, FREE. Provides supportive listening, sharing and psycho-educational resources for people who have experienced a loss. In addition to a focus on validation and normalization, participants learn more about the effects of grief and tactics to manage it. These meetings are facilitated by Cynthia Swan, LCPC, grief and bereavement counselor with Capital Caring Hospice of Largo.

Camp Encore: A Midsummer Night's Dream

Two groups of mortals—the mismatched lovers and the hilarious amateur actors—retreat to the forest, only to find it inhabited by a troupe of feuding and mischievous faeries. Will everything be set right before the royal wedding in the morning? This production combines Shakespeare's language with original music, movement and stage combat. Creative Kids Camp Summer Circus

Summer Circus Camp Showcase
1–2pm, Community Center, FREE. Culmination of two weeks of intensive circus skills training, newbies and veterans demonstrate juggling, stilt-walking, unicycling, balance board, rolling globe, partner acrobatics, clown gags and single-point and fabric trapeze. Directed by Greg May.

Black Sheep
8:30–11:30pm, New Deal Café, FREE. Five-member reggae band pushing the frontiers through jazz and rhythm & blues, bringing American musical flavors to reggae’s African rhythms. As its name implies, it is music made by outsiders for outsiders. Together for more than thirty-five years and winners of multiple WAMMIE awards, Black Sheep keeps its music fresh with innovative harmonies and a fusion of diverse influences.

A Train Ran Through It
2–2:45pm, Greenbelt Park, FREE. The trolley that bisected the southwest corner of what is now Greenbelt Park was the Washington Spa Spring and Gretta Railroad Company (later renamed the Washington Interurban Railway Company) was first chartered in 1908 and streetcars carried passengers through the future Greenbelt Park until 1933. A terminus in Northeast Washington D.C. was situated at 15th and H Streets and the line served Bladensburg and Berwyn Heights, Maryland.
