The proposed multi-family development and mixed-use space at Capital Office Park would include apartments, hot tubs and a dog park, but the Greenbelt City Council wanted to know if it would include childcare, recreation and retail. The proposal, presented at the council worksession on Wednesday, September 11, was made by the construction firm NRP Group LLC, which seeks city support of its high-end family housing near the Greenbelt Metro Station, though legally the city does not have a vote in the matter.
“From a legal perspective it’s good, because it’s what’s envisioned there,” Matthew Tedesco, a local attorney representing NRP, said of the proposal. “Obviously, we are working hard with the city to make sure that they’re supportive of it, but we’re very optimistic that it will come to fruition.”
During the worksession councilmembers also broached topics such as affordable housing, traffic and noise. City staff and members of the public were also in attendance.
