As the Old Greenbelt Theatre’s auditorium continues to have work done on it, a new temporary space to watch films opened where the MakerSpace used to be at 125 Centerway. The lobby and concession stand of the theater will remain open for patrons to buy tickets and order refreshments to carry next door. With the move from a 363-seat auditorium to a 40-seat microcinema, the theater anticipates selling out shows and recommends pre-purchasing tickets. The small venue will allow the theater to continue showing its innovative film programs over the next four months while the main auditorium is dark for replacement of the aging HVAC system, the addition of new seats
and renovations. As an extra perk, theater members can buy tickets two days before the general public. The Pop-up will continue offering visual and hearing assistance and wheelchair accessibility. Check at the concession stand for more information. Once the main theater reopens, the Pop-up will provide a second screen for showing special films and programs through the 2019-2020 Oscar season.
