Explore the dense Congo rainforest in search of healing plants. Experience the terrifying true story of an imperiled 2013 NASA spacewalk. Meet a 99-year-old musical legend aiming to restart his career.
Expedition Congo, Eva 23 and The Unstoppable Irving Fields are just three of more than 30 independent films slated for the October 12 to 15 Utopia Film Festival, a non-profit project of Greenbelt Access Television. Both live-action and animation films will be screened at the Old Greenbelt Theatre, the Greenbelt Arts Center and the New Deal Café.
“This year’s screenings have frankly stunned me with the artistic and emotional power of so many works,” said Utopia executive director Chris Haley. “Often it’s said that just to be selected is an honor. But so many of the entries have impressed me this time around that again, I am profoundly humbled that these filmmakers shared their art with Utopia.”
