Members of the Eleanor Roosevelt High School step squads work hard to carry on their teams traditions of success and commitment. At the 2017 Youth Step USA National Championships, the squads for both boys and girls, known as Dem Raider Boyz (DRB) and The Lady Raiders respectively, claimed the top spots.
Both squads recently won their regional competitions that qualified them for the Youth Step USA national championship, which will be held on May 26 in Newark, N.J.

The dance form has produced competitions on local, regional and national levels on college campuses and at schools, churches and community organizations, according to the website for Step Afrika!, the first professional international step-dance company.
